Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ted Newell Consulting ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information in connection with our performance marketing services, including the software tools we use to manage advertising accounts on behalf of our clients (collectively, the "Services").
Ted Newell Consulting is a sole-proprietor consultancy operated by Ted Newell. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
1. What we do
Ted Newell Consulting provides performance marketing services such as paid search and paid social management, reporting, and optimization. To deliver these services, we connect to advertising platforms (for example, Google Ads) on behalf of the client who owns the account, with that client's authorization, and we use that access to manage campaigns and produce reporting for that client.
2. How we access and use Google user data
When a client authorizes us through Google's OAuth consent screen, we access their Google Ads account data through the Google Ads API. We request the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords scope, which allows us to view and manage the Google Ads accounts the authorizing user grants us access to.
What we access
Through this authorization we may access:
- Google Ads account structure (campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, and settings);
- Performance and reporting data (impressions, clicks, conversions, cost, and similar metrics);
- Account configuration needed to create, update, or pause campaigns and budgets.
How we use it
We use this data only to provide and improve the marketing management services the authorizing client has engaged us for, specifically:
- Managing and optimizing the client's advertising campaigns;
- Producing performance reports and recommendations for that client;
- Operating the internal tooling we use to deliver these services.
We do not sell Google user data. We do not use it for advertising of our own. We do not use it to train generalized machine-learning or AI models. We do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the service the client requested, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition as described below.
3. Limited Use disclosure
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
4. Other information we collect
Separately from Google user data, when you contact us through our website we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and message. We use this only to respond to you and to discuss potential or ongoing engagements.
5. How we share information
| Recipient | Purpose |
|---|---|
| The client who owns the advertising account | Reporting and account management performed on their behalf |
| Service providers we rely on to operate (e.g., hosting and email) | Strictly to operate the Services, under confidentiality obligations |
| Legal and regulatory authorities | Only where required by law or valid legal process |
| A successor entity | In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets |
We do not sell personal information or Google user data to anyone.
6. Data storage and retention
Account data accessed through the Google Ads API is processed to deliver reporting and optimization and is retained only as long as needed for the engagement. We retain data no longer than necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, and we delete or de-identify it when a client engagement ends or upon request, subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we access, including restricting access to authorized personnel and protecting credentials and OAuth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect data consistent with the sensitivity of the information involved.
8. Your choices and rights
A client may revoke our access to their Google account at any time through their Google Account permissions page. Revoking access stops our ability to access that data going forward. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
